To wrap up our Forces and Movement science unit, the grade 3 students will be designing and building a toy that that uses one or more of the forces that we have studied (muscular force, friction, buoyancy, static electric, gravity or magnetic), for a Toy Show in the grade 3 classroom. Each student will have the chance to share their toy with the class as well as explain why their toy should be purchased by the toy company. In order to make our toys to the best of our abilities, students are to work on these at home where they have a wider range of materials available as well as closer supervision when using tools and materials. Examples of materials that could be used are springs, thick elastics, small boxes, coffee cans, paint, duct tape, magnets, old cookie sheets, sand paper, wax paper, wood or anything else your child can think of! The possibilities for this project are endless!
Toys need to be completed and brought to school on Monday November 3rd.
Looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful toys! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
